Greetings to all –
Due to the hustle and bustle that many have during the summer the WI Association of Repeaters will not be having a meeting for the month of July.
In lieu of the meeting we would like to give some updates:
Repeater Coordination –
We currently have three new ones in process and are working through the back log of the ones that were submitted. If you have one that has not had a reply please submit it to us or comment on the ticket if one was issued. Likewise, be a friend and in the true gentleman agreement and notify us if you are putting up a repeater. We have taken reports that some have placed repeaters on the air without coordination or following the band plan or frequency steps. If interference happens to a coordinated repeater by a new or uncoordinated repeater it would be the responsibility of the newest repeater to mitigate the interference. (We have heard that this might become a case or situation very soon).
NOPC (Notice of Proposed Coordination) –
We are actively monitoring NOPC’s from other states and responding to them within the 30 day commenting period.
Repeater Listing Updates –
We have been making progress and finding a few that are no longer on the air and have been updating them. In addition, if you KNOW of any repeater that is not on the air, something has changed, or any updated details please send that to us through the work ticket or email me at: n9upc@wi-repeaters.org
On a final note –
Thank you to all that have been working with W.A.R. again as we get things back on track. We have a few hard working individuals within the organization who volunteer their time. If you are ever looking to help W.A.R. or volunteer we are looking for some to help identify repeaters in your area that are reported on the air, have not provided an update, or the HOC cannot be reached. Please feel free to email at n9upc@wi-repeaters.org
We plan to have a meeting in August and details will be coming soon for that meeting.
